One of the country’s leading steel stockholders, AJN Steelstock, which has steel processing sites in Newmarket, Suffolk and Henstridge, Somerset, has been recognised as one of the highest ranking Top 100 privately owned businesses in Suffolk.

Representing Suffolk’s 100 leading companies, the Grant Thornton ‘Suffolk Limited’ report, gives a unique insight into the performance of the Suffolk business community and provides a benchmark against which the county can assess its economic performance.

The 2021 survey analysed the financial performance of the county’s top leading privately-owned companies and AJN Steelstock has been ranked 8th in the highly regarded listing.

Employing 391 people across its Newmarket and Henstridge sites, the company has seen its turnover increase year-on-year for the last 16 years, supporting its continued inclusion in the Suffolk Limited report.

Courtney Bell, Finance Director at AJN Steelstock, comments, “We’re delighted with our continued inclusion and improvement in the Suffolk Limited report. Our top ten league table position validates AJN’s excellent operational and financial track record.

“Despite the ongoing impact of the pandemic, we continue to enjoy a period of unprecedented growth and our success is due to the commitment we make to our customers, our distinctive capability and culture and the unrivalled service we provide.”

In addition to its comprehensive range of steel products, AJN Steelstock also provides full in-house processing and finishing services including saw cutting, drilling, shot-blasting and painting, and laser and high def plasma profiling.

Adding to its ‘Suffolk Limited’ status, AJN Steelstock has also been identified as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’, and recognised as one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK with a listing in The Sunday Times PwC ‘Top Track 250’ league table’.

“It’s hugely rewarding to have all the hard work and dedication shown by everyone who works at AJN recognised in this way,” concludes Courtney. “We have an amazing team at AJN, everyone plays their part and their willingness to adapt to the changes imposed on us and the ever present ‘can do’ attitude, makes AJN the success that it is.”
