AJN puts its money on a race to the top

AJN Steelstock Ltd, which has steel stockyards in Newmarket, Suffolk and Henstridge in Somerset, is delighted to announce that it has just concluded a sponsorship deal with Levi Day, an Australian motorcycle racer for the 2017 British Champions season.

Levi (27) is racing this season in the British Championships Ducati Tri Options Cup where all the competing superbikes are of the same standard and the difference between first and second place is all a matter of riding experience and technique. All the bikes are of a similar standard with very few modifications allowed, making for an extremely competitive class of racing.

Levi’s first race of the season was at Donnington Park (1-2 April 2017), which saw him take the trophy for top spot among the 899cc category.

Commenting, Alan Boyden, joint Managing Director of AJN Steelstock, said: “Superbike racing is one of the most competitive and exhilarating sports around and the Ducati Tri Options Cup is an incredibly demanding series of races.

“Levi’s infectious enthusiasm, his determination, coupled with his ‘will to win’, makes it an absolute pleasure to be supporting him as he makes his bid for superbike glory.”

AJN Steelstock has seen demand for its steel increase month on month, year on year for the last 16 years. In the last financial year (2016-2017), the company sold close to 145,000 tonnes of steel with a turnover for the same period of £92 million – up £36 million on the previous year.

In 2015, AJN made a multi-million pound purchase and investment in a 17 acre site in Henstridge, Somerset, to increase its capacity and serve as a bridgehead for expansion into the South Coast, South West, M4 corridor, Wales and the West Midlands.
